I think you&#039;re right about the word &quot;entertain.&quot; It cuts a broad swath...perhaps &#039;engage&#039; might qualify it somewhat...but still pretty subjective. Part of the fun of reading I think resides in the search, hunt for novel phraseology. I recall how exciting it was to read Martin Amis for the first time. So many choicely turned metaphors...and funny as hell. So as I say, entertain for me involves laughter, engagement, new thoughts/ideas, or at least presented in ways previously unencountered.]]></description>
