Question: Do people read link posts?

Like many bloggers, every few weeks I post a collection of links. Tyler Cowen does the same and asks, Do people read link lists? His commenters are characteristically divided. Nonetheless, I’m curious: does anyone read the link lists I post, such as the one I put up a few minutes ago?

    I do, I do!

I subscribe to BookForum and Arts and Letter Daily: both provide only links.

Now, do I actually go to each link? No, of course not. But I usually go to at least a few….

I do read link posts, though of course, I don’t always follow all the links, and even those I do follow, I don’t always read entirely. Annie, I second your endorsement of A&LD. Another link post I read regularly is the recurring “Morning Medieval Miscellany” from Unlocked Wordhoard (example).

I do, yep, and my Sitemeter reports show that people read and click through at least a couple of the links in my own random-links posts, too.

I do…as one of (presumably) thousands of bloggers trolling the net each day looking for something to day. Kind of absurd, but so it goes…
